Post-Medieval Archaeology Congress 2020

April 17, 2020 - April 19, 2020

Call for Papers and Posters

The fifth annual Post-Medieval Archaeology Congress will be held at the University of Plymouth on 17 – 19 April 2020.

PMAC 2020 will be the first part of two associated conferences commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s arrival in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The second part will be held on 5 – 8 November 2020 in Plymouth, MA, hosted by the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology (CNEHA) in conjunction with the SPMA and the Society for Historical Archaeology (SHA).

The annual Congress is open to all to report current and recent research on any aspect of post-medieval/later-historical archaeology. There is no geographical focus and we welcome papers from around the world. Papers should be 20 minutes in length, including time for questions; the organisers will arrange these into themed sessions. Short organised sessions of up to six papers set around a particular research interest or theme are also encouraged as are poster submissions.

Please visit this link to submit an abstracts (max 200 words) for a paper, session, or poster. Session proposals should include a title and abstract, as well as a list of speakers. The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to Friday 17 January 2020.
