SPMA seeks new Ordinary Members of Council

Monday 16 July 2018

SPMA has three vacancies for Ordinary Members of its Council and a Website Editor to start in December 2018.

Council Members must also be members of the SPMA, and we are keen to have a strong balance on Council between different sectors and interest groups in the discipline, such as academics, community archaeology groups, museum professionals, members of heritage organisations, and commercial archaeologists. We are also keen to have representatives with research interests from across Britain and the wider world.SPMA members at our 2018 Congress at the SS Great Britain, Bristol

SPMA Council carries out much of its business during quarterly Council meetings at locations across Britain - reasonable travel expenses for attendance are reimbursed. By arrangement Council members can also participate in meetings remotely by Skype. As the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology is a registered charity, the Members of Council are its trustees; they ensure that the charity is running well and does what it was set up to do. You can find out more about being a charity trustee on the Charity Commission website.
